About the Project

Hook Point came to us with the idea of creating a paid newsletter where each week subscribers would receive new guides about the science behind going viral in their inbox.

This meant the project had two parts, of which we did both the web design and development, following the design behind other projects we had done for them before.

The guides

The first part was converting the guides they already had in PDF format to a web version that could be more easily created and updated by the editors, had the ability to have interactive assignments, and was easier to use by subscribers.

The landing page

The second part was to create the landing page that would be used to sell the newsletter subscription. We worked with the client on the content and assets to ensure we got the message across, and integrated with Stripe to allow users to subscribe to the newsletter.

Possible with the help of Sanity

Sanity was specially perfect for this job, as it allowed us to easily create a document for all the content common to all guides, and a different document type to be used to create the guides with their specific content.

A simple extension to the default fields even allowed us to have support for placeholders in the text common to all guides, which are then replaced on each guide in the React frontend, for example with the guide name, e.g. having a common text 'How {title} stops the scroll' which gets rendered on Dr. Julie Smith's guide as 'How Dr. Julie Smith stops the scroll'.
